Each year the students vote for a delegate from each year group to represent them on the School Council. This gives the children an opportunity to experience democracy and the effectiveness of pupil voice.
The 6 representatives meet fortnightly with the teacher representative. The School Council listens to the other pupils and liaises with staff and The Friends of Wareside School. Recently, the council organised a competition for the pupils to design a garden for an area of the school that has been redeveloped into a ‘Sacred Garden’. The School Council helps to run a stall at the Easter Extravaganza and the Summer Fete.
