Computing

Switched On Computing helps us ensure that the pupils have a wide range of computing experiences.  By the time they leave Year 6, the pupils have worked on laptops, desktops and tablets as well as programme devices such as bee bots.

They learn: programming, computational thinking, creativity, computer networks, communication and productivity through projects linked, where possible, to our topic work.

Exciting projects such as ‘We are TV chefs’ have the children in Year 1 and 2 filming themselves making a recipe.  As you can imagine, our favourite part is eating whatever they have made!  In Year 5 the projects build upon their growing knowledge, skills and understanding and the pupils in ‘We are web designers’ create an e-safety website.

All staff and pupils are asked to sign an ICT acceptable use agreement to ensure we are all safe when we are computing.
